Iterax

My insomnia has been attacking me from time to time or shall I say my sleep pattern is not getting normal which probably due to the different shifting of schedules that is a work related problem. It was no longer an anxiety attack but rather a sleep management problem. Perhaps all I need is just a healthy lifestyle like I need to have a healthy eating habit or proper diet. There is a need to increase more fluid intake, more fruits and veggies and must get away from caffeinated or even carbonated foods or drinks, and of course proper exercise…but no I don’t think all these things will work for me. My human body and brain is already immune I guess with all these stuff and physical workout and it is no longer effective. Because coming from a 16-hour shift with so much physical activities, still at the end of the duty, I can still kick some butt!

It was never difficult for me to go on night shift or even pm-night shift but it is more difficult for me to go on morning shift. I was never a morning person. I enjoyed it so much staying awake late at night or even until morning and I like to sleep in the morning. Look how my world has turned up side down. So it is already become a routine for me to stay awake until four or five in the morning which is difficult for me every time I will have my morning shift duty and so I would expect to see myself less alive and not that energetic.

I can still remember when they did assign me in a morning shift for four consecutive days. I was really having difficulty to have my duty since I don’t have any sleep and I was never used to it. I was late for three consecutive days and was absent on the fourth day. My sleep pattern is no longer normal. I was advised to take a certain medication which I refused at first but then since I want to have a better sleep every time I will have my morning duty, I tried it once. The main reason why I hesitated to take any sleeping medication is the fact that I don’t want to be a drug dependent. But then, anyway as long as I know my limitations and the drug’s side effects or adverse reaction I think there is no need for me to be afraid of it.

I took Iterax 10 mg/tablet, one tablet just once. And it was effective. Hydoxyzine dihcl is the generic name and iterax is the brand name. This drug manifests anticholinergic, local anesthetic; anti-histamine and skeletal muscle relaxant and has high sedative and antiemetic effect and mild anti-arrhythmic and analgesic effect. Its adverse reactions include abnormal hepatic function, dry mouth drowsiness, and rarely tremor and convulsion. This can be taken or given through injection intramuscularly or per orem.

Iterax is much more different to any minor tranquilizer or any anxiolytic medications such as valium or diazepam. Valium has worse effects than iterax because valium has the potential for abuse and may cause dependence or addiction and drug tolerance unlike iterax. And iterax can be taken as over the counter medications unlike valium.

It is amazing to know how such little dosage and piece of tablets or capsules and ampules of medications can relieve pain and cure some illness or diseases. But then of course no matter how good or how great these medications are, there is a need to be aware of its adverse reactions, side effects, mechanism of actions and contraindications just to be safe.

  2. I’m having quite a similar problem. Our bodies are designed to rest and sleep at night but due to shift work, they get spoilt and go haywire. Everytime I finished my night shift, I feel so difficult to up tune myself for the morning shift. Its good if you can avoid the drugs as the side effects are bad.

i been taking clonazepam daily half tablet as prescribe by my physician coz im suffering an panic disorder, in the height of my panic disorder, im in vertigo and the palpitation of my heart increases. But lately ive notice that 1/2 tablet wont be enough for the whole day coz in the evening i felt dizzy and nervous. Until one day when i talked one of my friend who’s taking this medicine name “ITERAX” coz according to him its also an anti anxiety medicine so then i try taking coz its non addictive tablet and can be bought without doctor’s prescription then it helps it reduces my anxiety and i can sleep well but i experience dizziness and light headedness upon waking up in the morning. So if possible I suggest that we should not be to dependent with any drugs coz side effect is not impossible to occur in our human body.

  17. It can really be so.

  18. thanks !! very helpful post!

  19. hm.. interesting.

  20. Great read. I have one question though.

Is iterax really intended to make people sleep/y?

Or it is designed to cure skin problems?

  21. it is actually intended to cure allergies, sedation is just its side effect.

  22. I have Hyperthyroidism and as I take my medicine for it, itchiness is the side effects. But not so often so my friend advise me to take iterax 10mg, it really works and I am having a good sleep.

  23. I was driving home about a week ago and had a panic attack, called 911 and was driven to the er. It was the first time that I had one and really knew nothing about them
previously so was completely freaking out. Ever since I have still felt as if I wasn’t breathing correctly (like my throat is closed up), and have had pains and tightness in
my chest. I was just wondering if this was normal because I have talked to a few doctors and they said I was fine, I read up a little about panic attacks symptoms
    Any ideas?

  24. amazing stuff thanx :)

  25. Hello, it really interesting, thanks
