Things are running a bit slow for me these past few days, can’t do anything but to watch online movies and play the online games and I have my cousin to back me up and act as a liaison and partner in crimes all day; the vise we can’t get rid off as of the moment as we seems so much addicted to it. The scariest the movie, the more thrill it gets, it’s the horror films we like to watch most that would surely take our breath away and cover us in goose bumps. And of course, we can’t leave the site without watching any romantic comedies that would surely melt our hearts away and that would make us laugh until we drop and burst into tears, not to mention those action, drama, animation and sci-fi movies that triggers our adrenaline rush and let us wonder with mysteries of all kinds…

This is the best movie I ever watched for this year. The movie you should not miss. This is a story of an 18 year old boy named Jamal Malik who was destined to join the “Who wants to be a millionaire?!” and win the game; from being a slum dog, Jamal became an instant millionaire. He was not as genius as anyone can be but becoming a one time big time millionaire is his destiny. Every chapter of his life’s journey gave him the clue to answer every question from the game. And every question directs him to his long lost love interest, Latika. In spite of everything that happens to his life, giving up is not the name of his game, he is very determined to win and he was never lame. This is the story of love, hope, money, deceit and tragedy where the story lies from realities. The movie itself, the plot, the script, and screenplay were really great and the over all impact was very outstanding among any other film produced today, no wonder they gained many different awards and recognitions coming from the different award giving bodies which they truly deserves. Won 8 Oscars, other 76 wins and 28 nominations, not to mention their awards from British Independent Film Awards. [more of the awards]

Who would not be a fan of anime or any Japanese manga when it feeds our fantasy and imagination and helps us get through or escape from the reality even just for a while? Who says anime is for the kiddo or for the young ones only? I beg to disagree cause deep inside of me; I am still a big fanatic of it. When I heard about the movie of Dragonball Evolution, I get so much excited to watch it especially when I saw the trailer, but hey not the trailer alone, because even without it, I would get curious and excited even more. Who would not be an avid follower of this classic comic and cartoon series when it created a greatest impact among any other anime series as it constantly and continuously reigns even by the decades among the many fan dying hard “animaniac”?! The story that was created a long time ago lives and it never dies. The anime for all season, the legendary Dragonball Z, at last came to life with newest production of its kind, and so who would not be tempted to watch it? I was really looking forward to its Hollywood version. I can’t seemed to wait to watch it on the big screen and so I watched it on the online movie website. However, my biggest expectation and hope for the movie ends after watching it. The attempt to produce a movie from this Japanese manga should have never happened. This is not the movie I was hoping for. I was expecting to see more stylistic actions and movements, a creative fight sequence and more artistic screenplay or production, which is far more than I can imagine from the cartoon scenes. The cartoon was created a long time ago and so I was expecting a lot better than this and even something different wherein they could have adopt its modern version or style. And the cartoon series might probably produced in detailed form but they could have compressed it in a much more deeper sense in its greater challenge that would again create a big impact on its viewers and followers.

This is the first time I watched this movie. It was unique and exhilarating, the movie of Julien and Sophie whose love story started from every bit of their childhood fancy games. A simple games represented by a small tin box in a shape of carousel where they engaged themselves in a playful rivalry of whoever has the box can be forced to perform a “dare” to get it back which later on dictates their future and even dare them to go as far as hurting and tricking each other. From every game they played makes the two of them doubt their feeling for each other at the thought that any of them are just playing games. The story may appear so senseless for some due to some scene that was a bit absurd with such dares that is mostly life threatening just to play their dangerous games. The story was different in its idea of the scriptwriting and that’s why I liked it. I just don’t like it every time they make a dare that causes harm to other people as it makes no sense but the thought of them and their playfulness that inhibits themselves to admit what their true feelings are; that they are truly, deeply and madly in love with each other… that makes more sensible. lol

Asian countries are known for their best horror movies which are really far better than the brutally, bloody and zombie look alike of the American or western movies. Known for so many ghost stories, superstitions and tales they are able to come up with different movies that are totally scary. They do have deeper sense in their great minds and imagination and deeper knowledge to make up mysteries from such supernatural phenomenon. I honestly like to watch Asian horror films, as they can make it somewhat real and not exaggerated, and one of which is “The Maid”. My favorite really is “Shutter” which is about the story of a photographer with her long lost ex-girlfriend trying to make revenge but I like to feature here this Singaporean box office hit horror movie, “The Maid.” Not only because a Filipina, Alessandra De Rosa is the main character of the story but the story is really good, though it was a bit slow but there is twist at the climax of the movie that is very unpredictable.
This is a story of a maid named Rosa who tried to work in Singapore as a Domestic Helper in order to sustain the medical needs of her brother, Bayani who was then very ill. Rosa came in Singapore on the very first day of the Chinese Seventh Month or also known as the Taoist Ghost Month which was then believed that during this month, the gates of hell open and spirits are let loose upon unsuspecting world. The dead walk among the living for 30 days and to protect themselves from these ghosts, they created rules like not to talk to any stranger on a deserted stretch road or do not turn back at night when someone calls out your name. And Rosa seemed to broke a lot of rules that she experienced a lot of strange apparition especially during at night and even experience strange sights and sounds to her delight, soon finds herself struggling into the world of dead. At the peak of the festive event, Rosa’s life turns into nightmare when there are different strange things happened, and soon finds out that the ghost is telling her something that they are really at her side and that the real enemy is not them but the people or the family whom she is working with. Eventually she finds out that she will be killed by the couple for her to marry their one and only child, Ah soon, a handicapped and autistic child who committed suicide and living as a ghost when Esther Santos, whom Ah soon dearly loved was burnt by his father. Esther was their maid two years ago and burnt into death after learning that she was raped by Ah soon to prevent her from reporting from the police. Esther has resemblance with Rosa and was chosen to be Ah soon’s future ghost wife. With the help of Esther, Rosa was saved from the evil and dark plan of these two couple and went home together with Esther’s ashes in the Philippines safe and sound.

This is my all time favorite, the best movie for a lifetime. I watched it for several times and I truly enjoy every bit of it. This is a story of a high school girl, named Viola Hastings played by Amanda Bynes who loves to play the soccer game but got really disappointed when the soccer team for girls in her school, Cornwall was cut off. After her request to join the boy’s team is refused, she finds a way to play for Cornwalll’s rival, Illyria. Meanwhile, Sebastian whom she resembles physically was supposed to enter Illyria as a new student but decided to visit London secretly to enter a contest with his rock band, and so she asked Viola to cover up for him by telling the school that he is sick and each of their parents (who are divorced) that he is staying with the other. It was just right in time, it was her chance to join the soccer team of Illyria by disguising herself as Sebastian and with the help of her friends everything worked as her planned. From the story not only she was able to prove that she can do what other men can do in the soccer game as she beat the Cornwall team and won the game but she was able to win the heart of Duke, her love interest who became her mentor in playing the soccer game. At the end, everything was revealed but it ends with a meaningful story. It was a funny and not an ordinary movie, a romantic comedy I can watch repeatedly where every scene is worth watching for.
